AIG Israel Strike Escalates as Service Department Halts Operations
The labor dispute at AIG Israel escalated as the service department joined a full strike, halting all company operations amid a deadlock in collective agreement negotiations.

The labor dispute at insurance company AIG Israel escalated further following the holiday season. After a total shutdown of all operational centers, sales, customer service, claims, and headquarters last Friday, the strike continued today with the complete paralysis of the service department.
The strike encompasses automotive service, home and mortgage service, operations, and the availability team. Employees neither reported to offices nor worked remotely, bringing the entire company to a halt and marking a significant intensification of their struggle against management.
The measures follow a breakdown in negotiations between AIG management, the workers committee, and the Histadrut labor federation, which have spanned nearly a year without yielding a collective agreement.
Tomar Malul, chair of the AIG workers committee, stated: "Instead of calling us for effective negotiations that will bring a solution, management chooses to threaten employees with wage deductions. This did not work in the past and will not work today. We make it clear once again: the moment management enters genuine negotiations with the intent to progress and reach a new agreement, we will be ready to freeze the sanctions."
